Nuclear Throne: Why You Should Play This Game

I love Nuclear Throne. For the past month I have been playing, showing it off, and raving about it to all of my friends like a priest struck with divine fervor trying to evangelize everyone who will listen. I believe that Vlambeer has done an excellent job with the game and would like more people to check the game out. In that spirit, these are the three main reasons think Nuclear Throne is worth your time:

1) Diverse characters and random generation make the game a blast to play no matter how many times you do so.

Crystal uses her right click ability to deflect incoming bullets
All of the characters have their own passives, and right click abilities that make playing them a unique experience. Add to this the roguelike formula that Vlambeer adopted, which manifests as randomly generated enemy numbers/placement and terrain, along with random abilities that you choose every time you level up (more item drops, kills heal you, enemies start with less health, etc.) This makes it so you can play it for a very long time without getting bored.
Each of the areas of the game is unique as well, with its own enemies and traps, and a successful completion of the game will lead to a loop where the player starts from the beginning with extra bosses to fight, more enemies and more brain-bendingly awesome weapons. Which brings me to my next point...

2) Amazing weapons

If you like amazing, absurd and annihilating weapons Nuclear Throne is for you. The steam trailer for Nuclear Throne proudly states that the game has over 100 weapons, but that doesn't begin to cover it. From the goofy weapons like the auto grenade shotgun or the screwdriver to the hyper destructive auto flame shotgun and plasma cannon the game has plenty of fun toys to knock your foes into the stratosphere.

3) Constant support and 2 years of polish

The last reason that Nuclear Throne is such a great game is the countless hours that Vlambeer has put in to making their game. Nearly every week since the game hit the Steam store there has been an update for the game. Vlambeer has added extra weapons, levels, characters, balance changes, and general polish. The amount of time that the developers have spent on development has produced a wonderfully polished and brilliant game.

Even now I have only scratched the surface of Nuclear Throne. I haven't talked about the secret levels, leaderboards, unlockables, crowns, and everything else about this game. Currently the game is in early access, but is in a more than playable state as I have described. Be warned though, the game is challenging.
